Defunding the Police

"For several weeks, we have heard calls to “defund the police.” Is such an action feasible and would it alleviate the problems in policing?

We spoke to Anil Anand, retired police inspector and author of: “Mending Broken Fences Policing.” Anand has worked in several parts of policing including as an expert witness, as an undercover officer and for Interpol. Here’s what he had to say about the movement."

Cultural awareness and historical relevance

Passamaquoddy people have thrived for more than 13 thousand years. We are in three different communities--two in the State of Maine (Pleasant Point\Sipayik and Indian Township\Motahkomikuk) and the third in Saint Andrews\St. Stephen New Brunswick. At low tide, one can  walk across the Skutik River (St. Croix)—that’s how close the communities are despite the international boundary between Canada and the US. The Passamaquoddy people in Canada have an organized government  working for recognition as a Nation since 1998. Passamaquoddy people wish to live in harmony with nature, our neighbours, and you.
